Spent the day working a Fiddle Festival, and realizing that my addiction is getting out of hand. One of the vendors there had a Makai Willow and cedar uke, so I inserted myself and started playing it.
Well, at this point I have more Ukes than I know songs, but this thing- is it as unreal as I felt it was, or was I on the throws of Uke withdrawal and just jonesing for that tone. Anyway- this a laminate (I like them- means I don't have to worry) but it is amazing.
Thoughts?
Do I need to add this to the stable?
Probably do it anyway...but I have not played other Makais before- what is the rest of their line up like?

We have carried them for a while. They have a wide variety of ukuleles from all laminate to all solid. They don't show them all on their site but the spruce/lacewood is also very nice as is the all willow. The soprano you are looking at has a big heap of volume with the solid cedar top. The willow wood is gorgeous. Ohana also has that same combo in the SK-50WG.
