Anyone here from Taiwan? I live in the Taipei area and would be interested in making some friends to jam with :D.

I am a along way from Taiwan, but there are many UU members from there. Getting a group together takes a fair amount of time and patience. Try playing by yourself in a public area. Maybe at a park. Do it to entertain yourself, not to attract a crowd. Be prepared to talk to the people who kindly stop by.

Another way is to talk with folks at a music store. See if there is a bulletin board and hang a notice for ukulele players --- tell them you play at the park.

Keep at it. If you are having a good time, others will see it and want to join in.

They sell ukuleles, so they might be able to help you.

Thanks! I appreciate all of the advice :D. I can't speak much Mandarin so maybe my best bet would be just playing out at different places, or posting on tealit.com. Btw, I'll have to check out that shop next time I'm in Hsinchu, I've visited every music store in Taipei already lol. There's also a guy in Taipei, "Jeff Uke".. sells tons of rare ukuleles, has a new bamboo collection too. Some pretty cool stuff! Ukuleles are just starting to become popular here so not many places sell them and it's almost impossible to find many big name brands. Just a heads-up in case anyone happens to visit Taipei :)
