I read all over the place on here about ACTION

Low action

High action

I've put off asking this question as to not sound like a nerd...but I can handle not knowing any longer.....

It's basically how high the strings are off the fretboard and relates to how easy it is to press down the strings. Most prefer action as low as possible without string buzz. Typically the more aggressively one plays, the higher the action has to be.

Action is..

..the distance between the underside of the strings and the top of the frets. It's how far you have to press the strings to reach a fret. The lower the action, the easier to fret the string. Too low, and the strings will "buzz" on the frets.

...And too high, and the string will stretch before hitting
the fret and your intonation goes out the window!
