Aloha, fellow Island culture enthusiests!
Last week I called Christy Johnson (760)687-6453, to ask what
groups were providing the entertainment, so I could add that to our
group calendars. Christy just called me back and told me she cannot
get in contact with the lady providing the entertainment. Now this
could just mean they still plan on showing, but have not had the
opportunity to communicate back with Christy. There is no budget for
the entertainment so it would mean busking, for renumeration:

Christy has the room (outdoors) for musicians and dancers. Here's
an opportunity for a little community service and goodwill (along with

Farmers market holds Luau Party for grill (From The Coast News)

Carlsbad - July is National Grilling Month and the Carlsbad Village
Farmers Markets are having a Hawaiian Luaua to celebrate.
Grillers can get fresh produce, meat and fish, and learn how to
grill it, at the Carlsbad Villiage Farmers Market's "Summer Sensations"
Festival. The festival is held at both of the weekly Farmers Markets
from 1 to 5 p.m. July 16 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 19. The festivities
will include special summer treats and live music with a focus on
barbeque grilling.
"July is when summer grilling season is in full swing and people are
enjoyimg festive grilling parties", Manager Christy Christy Johnson
said. "Our annual Luau Celebration is a great time for everyone to
improve their grilling expertise, learn about easy grilling techniques
and try out grilled delights from our incredible food vendors. "
Enjoy Hawaiian dancers and live music while tasting grilled food
samples. Sign up to win the raffle basket of gifts from the market
vendors. The youngsters can do the Farmers Market Scavenger
Hunt and other games and prizes while they learn all about the
Farmers Market. Don't forget to pick up your official Carlsbad Village
