I recently broke my Aquila Low G string on my tenor. I have an Aquila wound tenor C string hanging around, and it appears to be a very similar diameter as the broken Low G string.

Would this wound C work as a Low G? Has anyone tried this?

Thanks.

I use a shortened classical guitar D string. Tuned to Low C you might get away with it.

I don't like wound strings at all for ukes. I order low G all nylon strings from MGM. They sound better and last longer and they are only a couple of bucks.

I second the suggestion for a classical guitar D string.

Should be pretty easy to get at a local music store...

...since I don't know where local is, maybe not. But I got one at a Guitar Center.
