I have only been playing Uke for a few weeks now. I just recently added a couple of Makala Dolphins to my collection. What are the best strings to put on these little ukes? I hate the sound of the strings that are on them right now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I like martin fluorocarbons. Aquilas work too. The fluorocarbons are smooth but the aquilas are rough. The flourocarbons are bright. The aquilas give the ukulele the aquila sound of brushing the strings whereas I think the fluorocarbons are more like steel strings. The fluorocarbons are smooth for sliding on.

Aquilas really, really bring the Makala Dolphin alive

You guys are awesome!! Thanks for the string help. I think I might try the Aquilas.

And if you wanna be really adventurous, try a set
of Aquila CONCERT strings on it! Thats how I string
my Soprano sized ukes, and it makes a heck of a big
difference! No extra tension,so it wont harm your
Dolphin in any way!

This one's an easy one....Aquila strings!!!
