I'm in the market for a hardcase for my tenor Eleuke.
I've looked around. Couldn't find anything appropriate. So I may have to tap into my trade background and bite the bullet. Meaning DIY project. So I'm thinking a square hardcase made out of plywood. Possibly 2 layers. For covering the bugger I'm thinking black leather. Or perhaps tweed for a more vintage look. Black leather being my first choice. So it's time to browse the hardware catalog for parts.
In my head I've pretty much have the build figured out. The challenging bit would be the covering. Internal and external. I'm a wood and metalworker, not at all to familiar with cloth and leather..
So I might end up sub contracting the lining work off.. But more than likely I'll end up doing it myself..

I'm not sure if you saw this link I posted last week, or not. He lays it out pretty well. I have actually been toying with the idea of building one (gotta find some tweed) that will hold both my tenor and soprano at the same time. I usually carry them both with me to meet-ups anyway.
