In the last year, we've started trying to do a few ukulele arrangements of our own from standard notation. We only have our handwritten tabs so far. We'd like to learn how to use the computer to write up the tabs and to store them online so that it would be easier to share them. Any suggsestions? We're looking for the most user-friendly ways to do these things.

Hello Luke'nlele

I use TablEdit. It is available in PC and Mac (I use it on Mac, and I don't know how often it's been upgraded for Mac, but the current version is powerful enough for me; Windows version is more frequently updated)

http://www.tabledit.com/

It is powerful, can do TAB and standard notation; can produce MIDI file; print out is nice and flexible. And it's $59.95!

I used to use Finale ($400? now?) but it was too much and the learning curve is too steep. I can't remember much in my old brain.

It also has a free TEFView, a software to display and print TablEdit files so other people can use yur file without purchasing the software.

There are other similar software so I won't say this is better or worse, but I am satisfied and the price is right just to try.

Cheers
Chief

I like GuitarPro. I am using it on the Mac. Haven't tried the others.

Thanks everybody. We hope to be trying these out in the next few months. We'll be working from our PC at home and we'll probably start with the free and/ or less expensive tab programs first. We really appreciate the recommendations!
