I got my Kala spruce top tenor from Music Guy Mike. I am enjoying it immensly, with one minor quibble. That would be the wound steel C string. It sounds good, but it tends to sound good to long. It keeps going after the other strings have given up.

So, 2 questions.

How normal is a wound C on a Tenor?

If I bought a set of tenor Aquilas, would I be looking at the same set up?

Very normal, and yes.

Worth strings don't have a wound C. I'm sure there are others.

Aquila has a set of plain strings as well as a wound 3rd (C) set. They also have a low G set with the 4th (G) string wound.

i have the low G on my fluke tenor. its good for me in the style that i play but........where one style opens another one closes off it can be played but it dosent sound right to me atleast i havent tried it on the c string i gota try with my next set.
