boom box build

Hey all,

I'm looking to add some percussion to my uke playing and wondered if anybody had made a good stomp box.
I know Manitoba Hal did but I'm not smart enough to add pickups or anything like that.

I'm thinking something like the 'Slap Drum' featured in the video

A stompbox doesnt have to be to complex. Look at the Ellis Stomp Box..

To me it looks like a small wooden box with a fairly simple piezo element wired to a jack.
I can't help to think it's a simple thing to make myself..
I got the tools and have the know how.
Guess I found my next project.
