It's my birthday in two months, and the bride told me to order.

So...

MGM is sending me a Kamaka Pineapple in a Fremont case next week.

Mike also promised to snap me a picture soon so I can anticipate.

I look forward to joining the Kamaka Pineapple Klub, turning 58 and getting my "Mother of All Island Ukes!"

Hau'oli La Hanau to me!

Haha! Yes, I know. But I always wanted an "Island" uke, and to me, this is the one to have! (Just my opinion!)

Agreed. I've been thinking that when I get around to a "K" brand, it will most likely be a Kamaka pineapple. It just doesn't get any more Hawaiian than that!

Congratulations! They're great ukes. Have you given up on the Collings. I was hoping you'd get one so you could tell me all about it! I've played Kamaka pineapples, but never a Collings. But, you can tell us all about your Kamaka when you get it. Happy birthday, too!

Hey PDX - looks like you passed on the LO Craigslist deal, too. Good for you - and you inspired me to go shopping as well. My concert shows up on Wednesday. So are you going to be at the Gorge? If so, I'll look for the guy with the Kamaka and the big smile :)

Hi Unuke: Yes, I passed. Really wanted pineapple. As for the Gorge, I got shut out again because I didn't register in time! Next year...

And hm, I haven't given up on the Collings. That will be Christmas :-)

Congratulations on imminent 58th birthday. I just had mine! 58 is a wonderful age to be. Maybe if my uke playing progresses I can inspire my family to get me a similar instrument next year or the big 60th.

Looking fwd to pics etc of your new uke.

FWIW, I played a Kamaka pineaple at Gryphon Strings in Palo Alto last year and IMHO, it was the best sounding uke in the shop...your mileage may vary ;)

My next BIG birthday is my 30th, Big for a number of reasons, but mostly because my parents were told when I was 7 that I wouldn't live past 17, then 25, and now 30 so maybe I can convince them to spring me an Eleuke or Custom or a poiple flea which are on my wishlist!

Hope that new Uke shows up soon, I want to see pictures!
