Latest Tool for the shop. A tanning bed?

Some woods tan really well. Thought it would be cool to try a natural sunburst with strategically placed and removed tape, left out in the sun to tan.

During the nice weather it has been part of my finish regimen with the cherry pieces to put them outside for a while (and hope for no bird sh*t) but in my latitude there isn't that much change in color. I don't know how I would get an entertainment center into a tanning bed..

During the past few months (summer here) the UV index has been off the chart. Regularly at 17. Means that you start to burn even thinking about going outside. Don't reckon I'll need that tanning bed solution.

This latest discovery was indeed so cool. But I also heard that by wiping on a coat of lye solution on cherry is a great success too. The wood instantly ages 100 years. After 15 years, I see no detrimental effects. But anyway, purchasing a tanning bed at home was indeed a great idea whatever the reason is. You can use it for personal use and even on your wood.
