Have any of you messed with eucalyptus burl. The type of eucalyptus tree this burl came from is not good for woodworking from what I understand. Which is really too bad as the tree was 7 feet across. The wood from these trees tends to twist badly when milled. I'm wondering if the burl would have the same problems. I kind of think not if used for headplates and that type of use. This burl I have driven by a couple of times is so large that the tree service could not remove it. Likely weighs a couple of tons. I'm thinking of taking my chainsaw and cutting a couple of hunks off it and am wondering your opinions.

Burl is really only good for decorative veneers like head plates and even pick guards. I've used it several times. It's quite reactionary to humidity swings so flooding with CA may help stabilise it.
