Have not seen any mention of a Collings uke here. My main guitar is an exceptional Collings. Wondered how his ukes are.

Amazing. I've got a custom Collings concert uke, adirondack spruce and mahogany. Along with my mya moe, it's my favorite uke by a fair way.

wonderful tone, great sustain, gets better with time ut1

Fantastic!!!

Have a Collings UC2... can't imagine any uke sounding or looking prettier than this Adirondack Spruce from Collings. I LOVE IT!

I guess I am one of the few who don't care so much for Collings ukes. The build quality is fantastic, but I bought one and it didn't stand up very well to my KoAloha Concert. So, I sent it back. I really thought it would be my "it" uke. I loved the look of the Collings, the feel of the neck, as well, the sound seemed lacking. It is possible that once it opened it would have been fantastic, but I didn't want to take the chance.

I'm actually with David here...I've never owned one but I got a chance to play one for awhile a few months ago. Didn't blow me away, especially for the price. Now, in the interest of full disclosure, it was a solid mahogany tenor and, honestly, I'm not such a fan of mahogany...too mellow for me. I like my ukes to be a bit brighter sounding.

I am not a fan on Mahogany either, but I got to play two Collings Tenors back to back: a Mahogany and Koa. I much preferred the Mahogany over the Koa. Again, wasn't blown away by the sound of either. If it were a lot less money, that may have very well changed my mind.

I have several clips that feature a UC2 Adirondack spruce / mahogany Collings uke being played:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kjO01QULVE (Over The Rainbow)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxwW5F3o-YY (I'll Sing You A Love Song) and several others...

I am a HUGE fan of Bill Collings' ukes. First and foremost because they have such a sweet voice. But they are exceptionally light and so beautifully balanced. Just a pleasure to play. Beautifully crafted instruments. It also helps to find the right set of strings to match up with the uke in question. I believe Collings ukes are the price they are for a reason. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them highly to anyone.

Here, here, Eugene!

I love my two Collings ukes. Like everything, to each his own. Everyone will never agree on likes and dislikes, that's what makes us who we are.

BTW, Great job on your videos! I just love em.
