I'm looking for some good song tutorials. I've been practicing strumming/chords/finger picking, and I'm getting a little frustrated, because I can read the tabs, but have no idea how the strumming/fingerpicking goes for most of these websites/youtube videos.

Any suggestions on a really good YouTube video tutorial?
I like MusicTeacher2010 a lot, but I can't keep up with most of his stuff, and have yet to finish learning a song in its entirety.

Thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks.

Hi,

here are the videos that helped me with the first "go" at the uke - not very fancy but you can very fast learn to play your first songs - and spruce them up later :):

Tom Dooley: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJTX1gQfgR8
Achy breaky heart: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGstUC84J4s&feature=related
Leaving on a jetplane: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXUdZ0plrz4&feature=related

very easy indeed :)

Other (in my opinion) easy beginner tutorials are these:

Basic four chord songs: http://www.youtube.com/user/Krankthat22#p/u/66/GKlouR-grok

When the lion sleeps tonight (just three chords...): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5NMQlDWFOc

edit: I nearly forgot - here's a really cool and easy one from Aldrine: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/1707227

Hope this may help you...

I like Music Teacher 2010 a lot, particularly his version of Mr Sandman. As a 2 month veteran of the Uke I decided that the only way I would keep going is if I could get a basic tune together and then improve on it. So far I can get through Formby's Leaning on a Lampost (slowly but surely, without the fancy stuff) and Mr sandman (Drat that F#7). Mind you I had to watch Mike's youtube clip about 20 times and note down the strum pattern on the lyric sheet before I "got it". I think it is important for newbies to find a song they really like and practice that rather than just any old tune, to me the sense of accomplishment is better.
