what's the general opinion of a gentle wiping down with a warm lightly dampened washcloth followed by a clean t-shirt drydown?

i imagine it depends on the type of wood. i've got a kala ka-st. it's so smooth and shiny that it seems safe enough. i just want to make sure it's not damaging at all, my uke is still fairly new so i've only done it twice. any better alternatives?

If it's really shiny, it probably has a good finish over the wood, so wiping it down with water on a soft cloth wont hurt it. I clean my guitars and ukes the same way.

i wet a face washer, pretty damp, wipe it over then dry it with another one and its fine haha =]
