Hopefully the luthiers here can answer my question! I had a quick google search but to no avail :(. Anyway, I was wondering if it's possible to build an electric ukulele out of a hardback book? Assuming you were to glue all the pages together of course. I imagine it would be able to handle the tension but I figured I'd ask you all anyway :p

Anyone ever make a uke this way? How did it turn out?

I say go for it!
Anything you soak in super glue will get plenty hard. You could even cut out the inside of the pages (like a secrete compartment) so you could get some acoustic sound out of it. I have defiantly never seen it done before.

I guess you could. That sounds like a whole lot of gluing to do.....sounds like a big mess when you press it together. Maybe take the cover off and wrap it around a board to save some work?

I could always rip the cover off and make 3 sides out of 3/4 inch wood either if I wanted to make it hollow.... *shrug* Could be fun! :D
