Where to Buy Tuners?

I am looking for replacement open geared tuners with amber or koa buttons. I thought this would be a fairly easy task...

I have searched the interwebs, and have found open geared tuners, but none with amber or koa buttons. Gotoh has amber buttons on their sealed tuners, but not the other? Does anyone know if you can swap buttons on Gotoh tuners?

The super tuners Jake uses are just a tiny bit of over kill. They come with a snakewood option, but at $180 a pop I think I'll pass.

Mainland only has closed.

StewMac has open gears, but plastic buttons.

I can't find open geared tuners without plastic or metal knobs.

Grover has Ebony buttons you can put on their open geared tuners, but I would really prefer amber or koa. Worst case, I get the closed gear koa buttons from taisamlu. If I have to choose I'll choose the knobs over open geared. I just figured I'd ask before settling.

You can easily change the buttons on the Gotoh mini tuners. I sometimes use wood buttons like these sold by taisamlu on ebay.

I know this is a really old thread, but you can get koa geared Waverly tuners at Stewart Mac. I just bought a set.

Yes, but a lot of people seem unhappy about the finish on the buttons.

Ooh, I wish I had heard that before I bought them, I am due to receive them tomorrow. I only saw good reviews from a couple of UU members. Before I install them on my Kanilea, do you mind my asking what about the finish that people did not like?
