Ive been playing the ukulele for over a year ago, and for a while now I've been learning to play other people's songs, I can play most and Jake S song down to the letter at this point, but I've decided I want to start making my own music, add my own flavor, but I know next to nothing about writing music. Does UU have any help and/or advice for me?

Check out the song writing forum in general, and this thread in particular:

Jeff is a gifted musician and songwriter, and has started a little youtube series on songwriting. So far, he has pretty much covered the basics, but I look forward to future gems.

Wow.... Playing for 1 year and you can play like Jake Shimabukuro!?!?!?! I started in October and now feel completely and wholly inadequate. I wish you the best with the composing....I have nothing to ofer, but Im psyched to hear you play! Post some videos!!

Flip HD has decent picture quality and very good sound for such a small package. The one downside is that it's not like a web cam or some full-featured cams where you can hook up a monitor so you can tell what you're shooting when you're filming yourself. You basically have to frame the shot and then not move around too much unless you have someone to shoot the video for you.
