just how resistant are laminates???

So I recently found out that laminates are more resistant to humidity levels, but just how resistant? I live in Vegas and right now its about mid 70's Fahrenheit for highs and will climp up higher within a week or maybe 2. and the humidity is about 15-25%

so is it safe too play my uke in the shade away from the sun for maybe 5 hours at the most?

well I have a kamoa pineapple that survive a humidity of 20% for 2 years now.

Laminated ukes generally don't crack from humidity. They crack from stress... like sitting on them. Sure, they CAN crack, but it takes a lot more than lack of moisture. The glue is much stronger than the wood it binds and in most of the better instruments, two ply laminates, they are designed to expand and contract without issues.

Yes it is a laminate, and humidity may not make it crack, but I have found that it can effect the sound. IMO I would keep a humidifier in it when in the case or hanging on the wall, and then when you are playing take it out. But I am a freak about humidity
