Out in public!
I played with some singers today, just one with a guitar, we were the only accompaniment, and we didn't get booed! And no one threw food! I have really been off of practicing, but it turned our alright, I hit enough right chords. Some people even said they enjoyed it and thanked me! One person said he had no idea that people still play ukulele, at first he thought it was a mandolin, when I showed him to him, he said "How unusual!" Then I pointed out to him that there are well over 150 members in the Tampa Bay Ukulele Society.

SOmetime the food people throw is good. I was once hit in the head with a perfectly good pepperoni pizza. Seriously, It is good to get out in front of folks and get good comments. Congrats.

It's a great feeling to play in front of an audience, isn't it? Way to go!

Well done!

Playing with others, particularly in front of others is the best practice and aid to development there is.

When they lift the chicken wire in front of the stage you know you are in trouble!!

Congrats - playing in front of people is a hoot. Not having them throw things is better. Though, sometimes, I wouldn't mind if they threw chocolate pie... :)

I played for an audience for the first time this past Monday. I got my ukulele last Monday and a week later I play in front of people. I was scared stiff. I am an education major and I have a music class. I had to teach a song to the class and I chose "Shake Your Sillies Out" by Rafi. I decided I would take my uke and strummed my way through it. Big step out of my comfort zone.

How did it go?

I'm still alive lol. I made my share of mistakes but I guess it went ok. I was relieved when it was over.
