Hello,

I am new to the ukulele and I have been playing just over a week. I would like to learn the song Ta ra ra boom de ay, but I have been unable to find the chords.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well you're in luck! I'm pretty sure that song uses only two chords, so it's a great beginner's song.

The two chords you'll use depend on what key you want to play the song in. For example, in the key of F, it would be...

F
A sweet tuxedo girl you see

A queen of swell society

C7
Fond of fun as fond can be

F
When it's on the strict Q.T.

I'm not too young, I'm not too old

Not too timid, not too bold

C7
Just the kind you'd like to hold

F
Just the kind for sport I'm told

F
Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay, Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay

C7 F
Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay, Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay

Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay, Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay

C7 F
Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay, Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay

(and so onů)

In the key of C, those same chords would be C and G7.

In the key of G, they'd be G and D7.

In the key of A, they'd be A and E7.

Enjoy!
