mix and match strings?

I ordered 2 sets of aquilas from MGM. Both of my A strings broke. Could I use one of the other strings (the G for example) in its place since it's only 1 step lower than the A?

yes you can. it probably wont sound as good. But good enough untill u get a new set.

If your strings broke, twice, somethings wrong.

Yes, but don't Different diameters, different tensions = different sound.

Why are they snapping? Check your fret edges - are they smooth? You may need some fret dressing.

ive tried it wth guitars and they "work" long enough to get a new set. Ive had everything from string buzz to not staying in tune even when tuned correctly...if that makes sense =/
