Redwood

hello all
I've been lurking UU for about a month, and am still amazed at the amount of information and help available. I haven't been playing very long and find this site is like a gold mine(sort of).
My question here is has anybody tried to build with Redwood? I have several well cured slabs that could make a couple hundred ukes. I'm not luthier, and suffered a stroke last year so am not allowed anything sharp. If it's workable, and if anyone's intersted i'd be willing to swap. thanks for taking time to read this.

I have just completed three instruments with "sinker" redwood.. great sound..not sure on regular redwood although it is rather soft. Where are you located?I may be interested in a swap..

It'll be a couple of days before I can get a pic as they're not at my house. I have some pieces that are about 3 or 4 inches thick, 8-10 inches wide and 5-6 ft. long.
