I found a copy of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Solos and Improvisation at a local Border's Bookstore. Since they were going out of business I decided to pick up a copy since the price was right. While this book is not devoted to ukulele's (or any specific instrument for that matter), it is an excellent book for learning how to do solo's (chords, chord changes, scales, etc.). The chord theory in chapter six and chord changes in chapter 7 were worth the price to me. The examples/exercises use standard music notation. The hardest part for me was mapping from the music notation to the corresponding notes on the fretboard. However, this was one of my learning objectives for this year so it's good practice. Just thought I would share in case anyone was interested.
