Does anyone know where to get a good kazoo? I thought about the Dollar Store, but those seem too cheap; I want something that won't fall apart if I look at it too hard. Are there any major stores that carry kazoos?

I tried to buy a good one off of Amazon, but when it arrived...it didn't work at all. So...no help, I guess. :p

I have been using Hohner Kazoos, they are not really expensive.
I like all the colors they come in as it helps me keep the different keys straight.

Kazoos are super easy to make yourself if you can get hold of 1: bamboo with 6inch segments, 2: a shopping bag, 3: sticky tape, 4: a semicircle rasp, 5: sandpaper, 6: saw, 7: mitre box.

+1 on Elderly. that's where i would go to get one.

I have 2 hohner kazoos, they work well, and seem pretty sturdy-- one has a near permanent residence in my pocketbook (you never know when you'll need it.) I actually got them from weedpatch music when we were up for UWC, but musicians friend has them for about the same price.

Cheaper than hiring a sax player!

Sir Paul McCartney played a concert here last year, and one of the criticisms was that saxophone part on one of his songs was done by some sort of melodica like gizmo by Wix (Paul Wickens), his keyboardist. He could have spent the $800 for a real sax player, considering the gate proceeds were over $3M. I suspect he could have gotten Captain Lovehandles to do the part on a real melodica for less than $250. For a few bucks more, the Captain may have even worn a mask and sung about cheese.
