I am stuck! I only can think of a few songs and I am looking for some new ones. I have really enjoyed "bring me sunshine", "ain't she sweet", ... I am looking for something lively with a swing to it. I would like for it to be a standard/classic that people know. Mind you I do not listen to the radio so if it is a "new-ish" song I will have to look it up on youtube :) . Thanks for the help in advance.

My favorite this week is "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on my Head", written in the year I was conceived, and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song, in the movie "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid". There's nothing some Burt Bacharach can't fix. Buy the book "The Daily Ukulele", compiled and arranged by Liz and Jim Beloff. 365 songs. Hours of happiness.

Try out "Pennies From Heaven" and in a slightly more modern vein " Something " by George Harrison.

If you already play 'Ain't She Sweet' how about
'Five Foot Two' it uses the same chords, and I
often make a medley of the two. Then 'Dr Jazz'
is a good swingalong song for the ukulele that
always gets the toes tapping....

[C] Hel -lo cen -tral, [G7] give me Doc -tor [C] Jazz,
He's got what I [G7] need, I'll say he [C] has…..[C7]
[F] When the world goes [F7] wrong, [C] and I got the [A7]blues,
[D7]He's the man who makes me get out [G7] both my danc -ing shoes.
You know the [C] more I get, the [G7] more I want, it [C] seems….[C7]
[F]I page Doc -tor Jazz in all my [E7]dreams,
[A7]When I'm trou -ble bound and mixed, [D7]He's the guy that gets me fixed,
[C] Hel -lo cen -tral [G7] give me Doc -tor [C] Jazz.

wow !!! Thanks! Is there a sound clip of how this is supposed to sound that you can recommend

try this...I can't really reccomend it, cos its me , singing awful, cest la vie!!

It's in 4/4, so fairly easy to figure out C-4, G7-4, C-4-4-4, G7-4, C-4, C7-4, F-4, F7-4, C-4, A7-4, D7-4-4, G7-4-4, C-4, G7-4, C-4, C7-4, F-4-4, E7-4-4, A7-4-4, D7-4-4,C-4, G7-4, C-4

well, that was from out of left field. Wasn't ready for that. I feel like I just got hit by a meteorite...mmmm...or was it the ghost of Hank Williams?

AWESOME!!!!! Thanks for sharing that one GG. Some mean strumming there. Loved it. :)

Talking about Dr Jazz which I mentioned a bit earlier...
Aside from the fact that where you show G7, my version
plays G that's the one! Jelly Roll Morton has an excellent
version on YouTube for anyone who wants to learn it.
And then for comparison (on YT) look at the one done by
the 'Sleaford Ukulele Orchestra'.It's a more gentle version
that still manages to swing, and quite a good video too!
And then,I mentioned that 'Five Foot Two' and 'Ain't She
Sweet' can (and often are) combined into a short medley,
as the versions I play both use the same chords.
