Hello, I recently got my first ukulele, a kala 15s soprano. It has Acquila strings which have stayed in tune pretty well. The problem is that even though the strings are tuned, they sound dissonant. The only chord that doesn't sound dissonant is c, but other chords such as f and g don't sound right. Does anyone know what this may be?

It's not as "in tune" as you think it is. It sounds like the "intonation" is off. Even when the open strings are perfectly in tune, the fretted notes are a few cents off. It's common with just about all fretted instruments and can be mostly compensated for by a good repair person.

If you are able to take it back where you bought it, may start there. You wouldn't want to spend a whole lot on it.

Do you have a clip on chromatic digital tuner...take it back to the music stop and explain it to them...maybe for exchange...without having the uke in hand it is hard
to tell the issues pertaining to it.. it is still under Warranty if it's new..if you fuss with it, it might void the warranty..Good Luck, MM Stan
