Last year I bought a green Mahalo U30 uke, which I have been playing ever since. I am very pleased with this instrument, and I have been recommending it to anyone who asks. However, I've recently seen a different model (ugly shape with a wider waist, more like a dreadnought) advertised as the U30 or U30G, and the model which looks like mine described as the Mahalo 2011.

My Mahalo has a Nubone nut and (compensated) saddle, a black-stained fingerboard surface, gold "Mahalo" logo and soundhole transfers and gold "dolphin-plate" machine heads with black buttons.

I'm confused! I'm considering getting another identical uke in purple to string in low-G for lead playing, but I'm not sure whether the U30, U30G or 2011 is actually the right model!

Anyone know about these things?
