Anybody played one?

How is mango wood? Is it good? Is hard wood better?

Thanks

Can't help you about how it plays and sounds, but if it sounds as good as it looks, I'd love to hear it.

I have a Lanikai S-C, which is their solid spruce and mahogany concert model... Not sure about the spalted mango, but if it plays anything like the S-C, you'll love it. I have seen Ukelele Mike (MusicTeacher2010 on youtube) play an Oscar Schmidt Spalted Mango Uke on some of his videos and it seems to sound very nice... Hope some of this helps :)

The seller, Mim, is very active here on the UU. You should give her a call. You'd probably get a sound sample over the phone...

I just purchased a Lanikai SM-T. It's absolutely amazing. The looks, the sound, everything. Well worth the purchase.

Be very wary of Mango wood. I have only ever played one mango uke that I liked. Don't buy it unless you've played it and you like the way it sounds. Just my 2 cents. Good luck! :)
