View Full Version : Cheap and accurate Hygrometer

HI all, just thought to paste a link for a hygrometer, they run on batteries, but are incredibly accurate 1%, they also store readings for max and min temp and humidity ( great for seeing into the dark and challenging world of cases cars and storage). There incredibly cheap as is the postage, I bought quite a few into the uk, and get 2 shipped at a time without incurring customs/vat etc.

ps, it has a usefull 25mm dia flat magnet thats detachable on the back, very strong.

I have about four of these in my shop. One in my building room, one in the equipment room, one in the spray booth and another where I store my wood. Made by Timex so they're nothing fancy. They are accurate within a couple of points. Good enough for what I want them for. They display time/temp/humidity.

Actually...hygrometers used to be made with human hair. We made some in class with our students and they turned out to be pretty accurate. There are many examples like this one:
