So I knew that Southern Ukulele Store was moving into a brand new location and that their move coincided with me having a week off work to book a holiday somewhere. Hmmmm...

Well yes, maybe I booked my holiday in Bournemouth because I knew they were just around the corner. Maybe I even pushed my holiday forward a couple of days to make sure they were fully open. Let me tell you, it was totally worth it!

It may just be the coolest place on earth. If you're ever in the Bournemouth area or feel like taking a daytrip, weekend or extended holiday I'd highly recommend dropping in. Just leave your credit card at home if you're a UAS sufferer! Haha!

Anyways, you can read more about the new store on my blog (link below).

Hey the uke that guy is holding....I'm thinking it's a custom Cursley's Uke? (I remember vaguely somewhere that Cursley Ukuleles built a custom for him....)

Aloha Ukulefty,
Well you certainly Know where to be when you're off work for a week for sure..nice shop and the place to be....Thanks for sharing...looks like you had tons of fun...Happy Strummings MM Stan

Woah - I am well overdue an actual visit - I have bought from SUS, and they are SUPERB.

btw - that may be a Cursley - he did make one for him. Cursley ukes are developing quick and you really should follow him on Twitter- he posts regular pics of his latest builds - fascinating. He has started a blog here

Man, I wish we had stores like this where I live. A ukulele store. That's probably the best idea anyone's ever had. EVER.

Not sure. The ukulele that Paul (standing) is playing was one off the wall, he was going through and tuning all the ukes as they'd pretty much just set up the new store.

The uke that Alex (sitting down) is stringing is a Barnes & Mullins Bowley.

looks like you were having a blast! Did you purchase a uke while you were there?

An incredibly fun 2 hours! Oh and I certainly did come away with a new uke..... ;)

look at all those beautiful ukes in one place!!!! i just wish this shop was a bit closer to me!!!!

Hi it's Paul from the Southern Ukulele Store. The uke I'm holding is an all solid Mahogany Pono with slotted headstock. We have settled in to the shop and we are loving it. I own two Cursleys an all solid English Yew tenor and a mahogany cigar box. They really are lovely instruments made by a lovely bloke.

I just had a look on the Cursley site, some very sweet looking ukuleles!

I hope one day they'll open a Northern Ukulele Store up in the North East, that'd be mint

Please no!!!!! That would be putting far too much temptation my way. ;)

I bought my ubass online at the Southern Ukulele store. Nice people, excellent service. The best selection in Europe I think.

What did you buy?

Hi, I'll be visiting the store late October. I've got a few pennies saved and a birthday coming up so will hopefully come away with my first all solid uke. Can't wait!

How about we put the shop in Sunderland then? That should solve it. Buy a uke vs. go to Sunderland... Hm, dilemna ;-) (jk)

im in essesx, but im defo going to drag my bum down there, just scared of spending to much and i will be a dribbling fool looking at all thoose beautiful ukes, it really will be a ukuleleporn shop for me, but hope i can get down ther in the near future, also all uk ukulele players we have to try and get the world record back for most performers at one time, as the record went in september, it was set a while ago in london, i think we hqave to reclaim it, just when where and how ???????? anyway keep on pluckin my fellow ukers :)
