Solsbury Hill (Peter Gabriel cover) on tiple

So that is the secret... 7/4 time no wonder I could never play it
But I love that song and also the early Genesis recordings.

"And out on the subway,
Rael Imperial Aerosol Kid
Exits into daylight, spraygun hid,
And the lamb lies down on Broadway."

Marvelous stuff

Yeah, the chords are pretty easy, it's harder to get the playing rhythm down. I've got live clips of playing "Blood on the Rooftops" and the "Willow Farm" section of "Supper's Ready" on my YouTube page. It took me years to get comfortable about playing "Blood on the Rooftops", and the few times I've played it live, I always make a mistake somewhere.

I have two questions for you:

Can you share the chords with me?
and
What parts aren't 7/4?

Thanks!

Pootsie,

Here's what I wrote up when someone asked me for the chords last year:

This is one of my few arrangements that I came up with by ear, without starting from sheet music or a page of chords. It's not 100% faithful to the record. For every line in the verse, you play a certain chord, then a D, then back to the first chord. If you're using a high G string (re-entrant tuning) when you go back to the first chord, try to emphasize the G string and minimize the A string.

It's all in 7/4 time except for two bars of 4/4 at the end of the verse ("Son, he said.."). So it can take a few tries to sync up the rhythms of the playing and singing.
