This is an new banjolele that is an antebellum wannabe

started as a concert morgan monroe
sounded great and had nice hardware but the finish was kind of orange and very little depth to it

so added a japanese inlay sticker...looked awesome

tried some aging with crackle finish on the headstock...but could not be satisfied with it just there as the rest looked too new ( and orange) so continued with the resonator as it had very little if any factory finish (laquer)

then had to do the pot to match

then added some new hardware (rather than factory phillips screws on the resonator)

then viola...a new antique banjolele straight from grampa's attic!

That looks great! Awesome job!

I almost want you to do that to mine now...! :D

Very cool! I've always been tempted by the MM / Eddy Finn concert resonators, but that headstock and the guitar style geared tuners throw me off far too much.

Yeah thanks ... On the tuners ... Anyway to change those out to banjo type tuners that aren't just friction type?

Well I do believe that those guitar style geared tuners leave some extra holes in the headstock when you switch them for friction/planets. :(
