Location
Illinois, but Hawaii at Heart ;)
I was updating the Unofficial Kamaka History Blog today with some new ads that I had found.

One of them has an address I've never seen before, the copy isn't the greatest, but it appears to say: "Kamaka Ukulele & Guitar Works, 1499 S 5th Ave Honolulu, Hawaii."

Does anyone know what location that was? Was that a store that Kamaka had? Any long time Hawaii residents familiar with that area? I googled it and can't find any info.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Loving the info you've collected! Here's another photo series of the Factory tour:

From professional photog Donald Chan - I particularly love the black & white photos w/ Sam Jr. The ukes, the wood, & Sam's aged face as it lights up w/smiles talking about the history of this great ukulele family is enhanced by the black & white.

Google Street View shows it as being near a Catholic school. There some warehouse type buildings across the street.
