Hi all,

A bit of a fun challenge for you here:

I'm trying to compile a list of 50 rock and pop songs featuring a ukulele. Only one per artist, please. I'll start things off with two recent ones:

1. Noah and the Whale - Five Years Time
2. Beirut - Postcards From Italy

How many can we get?!

Paul

3. Jack Johnson - Breakdown
4. Jason Mraz - I'm Yours
5. Elvis Costello - Scarlet Tide (I have seen him play this on a uke or on a guitar with a capo at the fifth fret)

Last edited:
The King Blues - We Ain't Never Done

Ram On - Paul McCartney
Something ("Concert for George" version) - Paul McCartney and Friends

Oh-- another good one--

The Who-- "Blue Red and Grey"

Also...

Dent May and his Magnificent Ukulele-- "Pierce Avenue"
Folk Uke-- "************ Got Fucked Up"
Ukulele Girls-- "Gangsta's Paradise"
Share-- "Shangri-La"
The Bastard Fairies feat. the Uncle Lincoln Ukulele Club-- "Brand New Key"
Tom Milsom-- "Internet Love Song"

These can all be found on my uke muxtape:

Some good ones there, although I should have specified that they need to be original versions of songs that feature a uke, not uke cover versions, so I'm afraid stuff like Ukulele Girls doing Gangsta's Paradise is not allowed!

Here are some hints - how about something by Kate Bush, Jens Lekman, Patrick Wolf, Queen or Pearl Jam?!

I am pretty sure that the Uke is used in the begining of this song atleast

Suzie Blue by Ben Harper

Los Abandoned playing Los Ojos.

A band from Los Angeles.
I think it's a ukulele being played on this one...

Donavon Frankenreiter - Free

Jack Johnson plays ukulele on this song so it may not count, it was written by both but its on Donavan's CD.

I love Raul Malo! I liked him when he was with The Mavericks too!
