Kanile'as hybrid GL6 is based on a Super Tenor and built with the same woods and same body bracing so it is to me a much closer relation to Uke than guitar. However those extra 2 strings open up large areas of exploration.
The instrument's playability is great fun and it positively encourages me to just do my own thing. So I put together 3 different bits of tune that have been dripping off my fingers these last few days and came up with this. It makes fair use of the A and D extra strings so may serve as a humble demonstration.
Also I am very happy that I now have a condenser microphone plugged into my Olympus EP-2, it is much better than the on-board mic I was struggling with before, and now the sound is a fair bit closer to the reality. Of course what you won't be getting is the wonderful feel of the body resonating against my ribs!
Good wishes to you, Ken.
