first off, wow, an amazing site!!...I'm a person who lives, eats, breathes music. I play the sax, bass and a buncha other instruments and am now the proud owner of a 1951-53 Gibson Tenor. It was passed down to me from an old family member. A friend of mine knows a guy at Guitar Centers "Vintage" dept. and while he couldn't pinpoint the exact year, he said it seemed to be the real deal after looking it over. I"m excited to gettin started and learing to play this fabulous instrument and being a member of the UU!
cheers!

Hi Ken and welcome to UU!
Hey, I grew up just a few miles away from you!
There are several uke groups around town, so if you decide you want to do a little group singing and playing, you have several groups to choose from.

Canoga Park–Canogahana Players (beginner friendly - intermediate)

thank you everyone!

My Uke was found under my Aunts bed. The case is beat to heck but the Uke seems to be in pretty nice shape. Some slight hairline cracking on the tuning knobs from someone probably tightning the screws too much....no cracks or even scratches. It has a serial # of 7905 7 all dark Mahogony and sounds pretty nice, like a typical Gibson.......and Lori, thanks for the heads up on the groups local to my area....much appreciated....cheers everyone!
