Simple question.

I've been favoring a lot towards inversions fretting high up on the fretboard while keeping the C string open.

Like the C (0087), Cmaj7 (0077), Am (5057), F (5058), etc.

A couple months ago, some people here taught me the 5500 version of Fmaj7. Somehow, I'd never learned that one, even though it's in the Roy Sakuma chords book I have. I wrote some songs in the '80s where I'd leave the G string open as much as possible, while playing all kinds of things on the other strings; this might be similar to what you're doing with the C string.

There are some songs where I like to use a 2007 A minor, with my pinky on the A string and my thumb coming around behind the uke to get the G string. And a 7 9 10 9 D, or finishing "Mr. Blue Sky" with Eb (8 10 11 10).
