My wife and I had a crack at a great Billy Bragg tune, and lots of laughs while making the video.
Please pardon our horrifying allergies and my sniffling- I am dying here.
While making it, I realized I have never played my favorite Uke on a video- this is my Spruce top Bari, tuned linear C thanks to Dirk at Southcoast, and it is my go-to.
Right- enough...MUSIC

Aloha Dave,
I really enjoyed that, and Wow...that is cool you and the Mrs can share a passion and I can see you both are really enjoying yourselves..Thanks for sharing and Happy Strummings..MM Stan

YEAH. Awesome Dave. Mate, you two just rock. Your joy is infectious and you look and sound fantastic together. A perfect couple, you guys. I love watching you both and your videos together.

Now the song. BRILLIANT choice Dave. One of the reall good'uns and some of Billy's best lyrics no doubt. Your voice is so well suited to this one mate. And the bari....yummy.

Just loved the whole thing man. Smiled through it all. Made my morning. More please...

Blessings to you and Mel from Tassie brother :)
Jon

Awesome! Loved the song and you and Mel were both great. Fun to see you after getting to know you on UU. Happy (hot) 4th of July weekend! - Mary

Great job! You guys are having a blast and it really shows. Thanks for sharing!

Ah, the magic is in the girl...she is my muse. Then comes this community, where I can learn and express so freely, and build myself by doing something as simple as (hopefully) entertaining you all. Last- the tune...there is magic in that one, you are totally right on that Jon.
I thank you all for taking the time to listen and respond, and at this point I cannot be stopped.
Jon, what say we do a little Steve Earle for these fine folks? I got Tom Ames Prayer...I want to hear your take on the old Melodians tune Rivers of Babylon.
Yes- that is a gauntlet hitting the floor.
Thank you all again for your kind words...now to get wifey on the Underground so you all can meet her- she is one cool chick.

that really brought some warmth to my heart. i was smiling just about the whole time. i DO NOT have a wife but when i do i hope to be able to do something fun with her like that. Music is such a healthy thing for our souls. I feel like people that don't have music in their lives are not as happy! BUT what were those chords? i think i saw c and g and a minor... ? sounds like itd be fun to try and figure out

wow that is some post Dave. Thanks for going to all that trouble. Gee, it was worth it just to read those magnificent lyrics.

Such a self deprecating bugger isn't he. And gloriously cynical (realistic?). Cheers mate. :)

Thanks for that - what a great song! I defy anyone not to smile when they are listening to the ukulele. Made my Sunday.

Glad you liked it Dave.
Eugene- I gut really lucky on that post- had it already, just needed to copy and paste ;) He really does like to have a go at it all- think that is what makes me like his stuff so much.

From the age of 5 or 6, this has been my daughter's favorite song, and now the school has Uke lessons, so thanks for putting this up. Very nicely done.

I must say "politics will it get me in the sack" around 4:20, has a nice Clintonian edge to it.
