Well... I live about 100 miles from there. Can't make it tomorrow (and am waiting on my Lanakai ST), but maybe the next time you have something like this I could show. I could use time away from my normal environment. Besides, 4-hours round trip sounds like fun on either the bike or in the car. I'll keep my eyes open for other events.

Also, what else is around there? I figure if I'm heading out that way, I may as well see what else there is to do.

ukeeku also hosts a uke get together in bloomington/ normal.
Not much in Taylorville unless you want to go over to springfield and check out the presidential museum. Taylorville is pretty much corn and beans farm community.

Trust me, I prefer that over city any day. I work in Chicago and am tired of it. Been to Springfield; no desire to go back. I am more for fishing, hiking, scenery (yes, farm is scenery compared to what I look at), so your area works for me. Anyhow, sorry I can't make tomorrow's event, but I'll be on the look-out for future ones.

Ha, I understand. I'm originally from the Chicago area. Now if I could get a shack out in the woods to live in I'd be happy.

We had a great time and a few people showed up that I didn't know. Always cool!
We may do this a couple times a year.
