Old Martin fretwire

Just in case some other ukulele Nerd's out there are interested:)

I've had my toolroom microscope on the Martin fretboard..and taken some measurements..Fret crown .047" wide by .025" high....the fretboard is .0985" thick...the fret tang is .075" (that's a long tang)..
and the fretboard slots are cut almost right thro..So i recon that the frets will have been pressed/hammered in "on the neck" co's if they were fitted before the fretboard would have disintigrated....luckily the fretwire I use (0764) has a tang length of .054"..so I have no problems pressing that into a .0985" thick board before gluing it to the neck:D
