I should keep it in my old truck in case I break down and need to flag down some help.

I'd keep it in your old truck to keep you occupied when you break down :D

Maybe a "Painted Uke Competition" at UWC 2012! Maybe combination "body paint" and "Painted Uke" competition. Ah. Ok I'm back. I'm ok.. Whew! that was close.

A contest would be cool. I have a couple to submit, however arent' mine, they were ones i given away. But, I don't think they would stand a chance against the Dragster. I also like the FrakenUke someone painted after EVH's strat. Both those would do well in a contest..

Two words. Dodge Charger. Well, actually two and a number= 1968 Dodge Charger (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWbdSw8uDQo)!

I would trade all my ukes for what is shown in that link in a heartbeat.

Here's my Mainland Red Cedar concert painted black. I did this a while back and now I am thinking of doing the same to my Red Cedar soprano.254212542225423

I'm doing a spray paint Gecko project of my own.
Question:
Did you strip the paint first, or just spray over what was already there?

Mahalo!

I just used a white base coat over the existing paint, but I'm not sure what is best.

That's exactly what I was thinking I was going to do. I have some leftover spray paint from my R/C car hobby days. I painted clear Lexan bodies from the underside and then shot a coat of white to make it opaque. I was thinking I would just start with the white opaque and lay the paint down on top of that. This is gonna be fun!

I decided I am going to sand off the original paint first. I think I'll start another thread this weekend.

Aloha Mike,
Excellent job, brings back memories of Hawaii Raceway Park back in the day(60s). We called that color "Competition Orange", very popular back then. My race team member's 32 Vicky was Orange and Black.
Thanks for the waltz down memory lane. Of course during the track's break time, the ukuleles and guitars came out for Kanikapila, aahhh, what a time it was......................................BO....... ....................
