hi.
it tunes the same as the ukulele, but different octaves
tuning is the same GCEA. so the chords n positions n soloing is all the same.

in hawaiian ukulele, the 2 outer strings are high pitch and the 2 middle strings are low pitch.
the tahitian ukelele goes all the way round, the 2 middle pair of strings are higher than the outer pairs of strings.

what strings are you using? 040, 045?
what picks are you using? 038, 041???

search for the videos of kanua in youtube, he explains the basic things you need to start.

this is me with my ukelele http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28O2MOfk7ss

Hi Macaxx,

I put together a pdf document on info I gathered on the Tahitian ukulele, music and language. The document talks about the tuning. It's tuned like a regular ukulele except the E strings are tuned an octave higher. The C string is the next highest tuned followed by the A and then the G. You can access the pdf document at the address below:

Where did you get your Tahitian ukulele from?

Fabioponta: Like your playing and the uke sounds good. Post some pics of your new uke.
