Several months ago I saw that someone was selling molds and other uke building jigs. I bookmarked it but then got hit with a computer virus that resulted in reformatting my hard drive.
Anyone know of the source?

I run some from time to time on the CNC router and put the extras up on ebay. They generally go for around $80-$100 depending on the size and how many parts are included. I generally include the outside mold, a profile of the top and the pieces to make a bending mold and couple other odds and ends. I can run some if I have at least three people that want them.

Don't most uke builders want to develop their own shapes?

I consider jig and fixure making to be one of the greatest challenges...and most fun...of all lutherie tasks. I only buy 'em if I'm making a reproduction, like my J45 Buddy Holly guitars. For the rest of the stuff I do, it's all about making my own.

When I was doing guitar work 15 years ago I made all my own jigs, but I spend so much time working on pianos right now that getting someone else to make some jigs for me would feel like a blessing.
