Wasting time on a day off, thought I'd look up the chords to this fun song by The Who. Then I googled "sexy accordion girls"... There are lots of em!

You have seen this right?
Accordion Babes Calendar. Most the pictures in your video are from it.
Not sure what provokes one to search sexy girls and accordion at the same time, but as the only instrument in the world more maligned than the ukulele (or banjo)...we thank you for your support :)...
In fact, I bet your search history would show Ukulele and Banjo, and probably Kazoo as well- gooble gobble we except you, we except you one of us!

While looking for pics to make this video, I found reference to the Accordion Babes Calendar, through the video I DL's by Renee, but could not find a link to the calendar. Thanks for posting it!

So is I remember correctly from elementary school music class, there are 4 categories of musical instruments: strings (uke), brass (a kazoo is a horn, no?), reed (accordions use reeds, no?) and percussion... hmm... what percussion instrument is sufficiently weird to match those other three? We have the makings of an orchestra there.

Here is your introduction to the bones Joko. I took these up when I saw Dom Flemmons (in the video) playing them on a street corner. It was a month or two before I started ukin', but we have a veritable quirky instrument orchestra going here.
Weird yes- but also ancient, and once popular (The Harlem Globetrotters theme is Brother Bones, a minstrel performer, doing his thing).
Cheers
Dave

Thanks, TCK. Good stuff there.

I tried Googling "Bones" and got this...

Not sure I wanna make that adventurous move and see what those images are LOL- try here...and no, you are not too old to start playing the accordion (though it is heavy and not easy). Your blog is hilarious mate.

Holy moly! That's gotta be the best Kazoo playing I've ever heard! Ain't hard on the eyes, either. :)

Haha Skidoo- that is the Drops in the video I posted- they are the BEST

Wha??? ....where am I?..... where did this tattoo come from?..... who are you?

(short term memory loss wins again..... it boggles my mind what I can forget before I reach the bottom of a one page thread....and the Drops do kick a$$)

Dom Flemons and the Carolina Chocolate Drops are fantastic. I have been thinking about a set of bones, you recommend a specific set?
