Ok felt I wanted to do this eval. in pieces. It goes in the shop next tuesday and I will explain why later.

First -- the fit and finish are AMAZING It is a knockout. I love that its
a traditional model, no bling and it still grabs attention at first
sight.

Its light of course, but I have a couple a Oscars to compare it to
but I like my OS's. think it 1.3 pounds.

Sound- Is it loud not blasting but it sure isn't quiet, but then I don't think my
OS's are muted either.

What it is is soooooo clear its like a bell, the tones are distinct
and ring, the sustain is longggg. I can run a gliss or bend a note
and it just hangs on.
I guess if you compared it to a singer its no rocker ripping out
notes from down inside like a james Brown but more like a
Streisland, plenty of power but Clear and penetrating ,and it will hold its
own.

If you get one of these do not get the uke crazy case, the tuners
are a strain to get in. Good case just a bad fit.

OK its going to the shop next week because I like my action at
First/second fret lower. It flunked the dollar bill test and wore
out my fingers today. It also has some strange intonation going
on that I'm fairly certain the shop will fix as They have set up
my ukes in the past and Have done a wonderful job. ie both my
OS ukes are easier to play at this point in time. Some of that
I'm sure is due to the Aquilla strings I don't like stiff strings.
It will be getting a set of log worth bm's.

I'll Add to this post in a a month or so after I get a good solid feel where I am with this one. Dreamerzz my opinion you jumped to conclusions and gave up on an excellant uke too soon lol.

Think My biggest suprise in a way is it needing a setup But I guess I shouldnt be I had my Dove set up back in the 60's and it was a top line gibson then. The improvement was WOW. So I guess it takes a good luthier to get them right every time lol.

spent a couple more hours with it today. The more I play it the more I like it. I buzz a few notes in the first couple of frets not used to that much pressure needed but that will be cured soon. The tone just keeps impressing me. I hope I like the worths as well. The low g I wonder about a bit but just because it a concert but it seems a lot here run low g on concerts and ya don't know ifya dont try.

Congratulations on your new Honu...sorry to hear the action and intonation needs work....a setup will be well worth it...it may keep you intrested and playing rather than sitting unused...
