On a hot June day we left the city
It was our second date, you thought we'd go swimming
You were twenty or so
oh hell i don't know

Down by the rocks we were lying in the sand
I made love to you, held your trembling hands
you were beautiful

On a windy day in the middle of October
all dressed in white and walking shoulder to shoulder
with you father down the aisle
you were twenty five

The look in your eyes warmed my heart
your wedding day and from the very start
I knew that I loved you

Don't let life pass you by
you know it goes in the blink of an eye
and though you said we'd have our whole damn lifetimes
on that day you died, I died

Thirty years old and we've got two kids
we got a big old house and everything there is that we needed
you're all that I needed

Five years down we were still going strong
the years we had left until you were gone
were so endearing

Don't let life pass you by
you know it goes in the blink of an eye
and though you said we'd have our whole damn lifetimes
on that day you died, I died

On a freezing cold day with the snow falling down
all dressed in black, put your body in the ground
you were eighty seven, I was ninety three

On the night that you died you pulled me aside
you said, "you'll see me again, oh honey don't you cry
we've had so many years, wasn't it enough for you dear?"

Don't let life pass you by
you know it goes in the blink of an eye
and though you said we'd have our whole damn lifetimes
on that day you died, I died.

That was great, both the playing/singing, and the song itself. Very moving....
