So right now Im starting to run out of jake songs i can learn by tabs, and learning by ear is pretty challenging and frustrating, and learning by constantly replaying videos of him playing takes a long time too.

I'll start off with saying my favorite instrumental would be Aldrine's pokemon medley or his Naruto medley :) they inspire me to create a bleach medley ( bleach is a japanese cartoon series, or more commonly known as anime :)

Ukulolo/Burger is a good one... But you could try to learn some James Hill or John King tunes?

My favourite instrumental has always been John King's Pua Lililehua, it's very sweet, almost therapeutic. There's at least two tabs for it here on UU, one of which being mine :)

I also have a soft spot for James Hill's Song For Cheri

I love John King's music. Kalakaua March is so beautiful.....

Yep, for some ukulele instrumentals for us mere mortals, (Jake is a "god", i've heard said, hehe),

....why don't you try working on Roy Smeck's "Magic Ukulele Waltz"? It's a challenging
piece, but not nearly as tough as some of Jake's works.

The structure is interesting, and the melody and chord formations grow on me the
more i play it.

My favorite version is on youtube by ukulelezaza, and can be found here:

It's also interesting that he is using 4 different Martin vintage ukuleles interspursed within
the arrangement, and he describes them and which strings he has on each also. (in his writeup when he posted the video).

He (ZaZa) was kind enough to send me a rough tab of his version when i emailed him, and
which gives you most of it as a "base". Using the video helps to pick up the little stuff the tab doesn't show, but you can figure it out using both.

I don't know how to post it here for now, and not sure if ZaZa would have any objections.
I'll drop him a quick email to this thread and see if he would be willing to post the tab himself
as a followup.

....in the meantime,....enjoy the video.

cheers,
Joe T

Kalei Gamiao's "Mach 4". I think it's a cool song and it always gives me an adrenalin rush when playing it.

How bout trying one by the one and only, Aldrine?

haha, ive already learned a couple of aldrine stuff, including bandito tyler. although i would be interested in the sequel, senor viktor, if anyone had tabs. I tabbed out aldrines naruto medley and completed the zelda medley tabs.

I love playing Lulu's back in town. I've arranged the Lyle Ritz version down to G to play it on my soprano.

My other favorite song is Stardust in the Herb Ohta version.

James Hill - Ode to a Frozen Boot (Are you looking for things you can learn to play? Because I think it would take Jake a while to figure this one out!)

Herb Ohta Jr. - Sand Castles

Troy Fernandez - Guava Jam

I'd actually never seen this video before today (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq_HwXmF23o) My version is surprisingly similar to it though. I'm definitely not as talented as him. I learned the song on guitar a few years ago and decided to transcribe it for ukulele. If it helps you figure out his version that's great. I did see the Brittni Paiva version and was originally going to try it, but my ukulele is strung with a high G so it wouldn't work. There's a lot of great music in this thread. Now I have more songs I want to learn.
