About eight months ago, I got my first uke as a birthday present. It's a Mainland mango pineapple soprano gloss and for me it has a very brilliant sound.
I sent a mail to Mike of Mainland and he mentioned UU as a good place to get started and get advice. I lurked here for several months before registering and I guess I won't write much, since English is not my first language.
I'm not good in strumming yet, but learning fast is not my priority. I love my uke because it's a gift from a special person and it's very useful to relax when I need my space. Fun and relax are the main reasons to play my uke.
I've got UAS several times and I've searched for new ukes to buy, but my Mainland mango is completely satisfying. Maybe, one day, I'll buy a tenor, or I'll look for an electric ukulele, but actually I'm very happy with my sweet pineapple.
